CLAESSENS - OIL PRIMED CANVAS
Claessens uses great care in producing canvases that are pre-oil primed with synthetic PVA Glue, which is less sensitive to moisture and replaces rabbit skin glue. We have not used white lead in many years. This complies with Belgian and European law. The coating consists of oil paint. Linseed oil is a binder and chalk. White zinc or titanium white and pigment And the canvas is put in a drying room for 3 days. where the air is naturally dry After this first dry time The canvas is then sanded and a coat is applied using Titanium White to the canvas using two knives and a roller.
